‘Covering all bases in local women’s health’ is our tagline used to promote that the bulk of our funding (90%) is used to assist in all aspects of local women’s health issues –

capital equipment purchases, assisting local support groups, increased awareness of disease and illnesses, prevention education and initiation of new services in our community

Annually we contribute 10% of funds to cancer or illness research, as it is hoped that one day we will find a cure or a preventative measure.

Established initially in 2006, we coordinate several events each year and through the very generous support of local businesses and the broader community we have proudly raised over $1,050,000 in 16 years.

Often as individuals, people want to help and contribute to certain causes that touch their hearts and impact their lives but feel overwhelmed at how much is needed to make a significant change.

PST ‘covers all the bases for local women’s health’ and by being part our events, we become a community force and, we are making a significant difference to the women of the Coffs Coast and their families.

Our goal is to honour our commitment to the women of our community and their future wellbeing.

Coffs Harbour Health Campus – ICU

MRI Compatible Transport Ventilator

Currently patients with life threatening illness or injury, who are on life support and require an MRI, cannot have an MRI without a specific type of life support ventilatory system which is not readily available.

As the MRI cannot be quickly undertaken, delays in diagnosis and treatment can occur.

The provision of MRI Compatible Transport Ventilator will enable patients to be able to expedite to an MRI and ensure treatment and diagnosis is undertaken quickly.

The main target group is all critically ill patients who require an MRI admitted in our facility or come from other smaller sites such as Bellingen, Macksville and Dorrigo.

Coffs Harbour SES Unit

2 x ATVs and multi-purpose flatbed trailer

The Coffs Coast’s diverse recreational environment with a broad range of outdoor activities poses challenges to rescue units where injuries can occur off the beaten track. The area encompasses Urunga to Woolgoolga to Nana Glen and Dorrigo.

Due to the capability of the side-by-side all-terrain vehicle the SES Coffs Coast are able to:

reduce response times in remote and hard terrain areas
aid in transportation of rescue equipment
enable Coffs Harbour SES to further assist the local community and support partner agencies such as NSW Ambulance, Fire Agencies and Surf Life Saving, NSW Police, NSW Fire (both rural and Rescue) and CHCC.
provide faster emergency recovery to diverse and challenging incidents.

The multi-purpose trailer flatbed trailer will transport the side by sides, providing many benefits including, the ability to quickly transport large quantities of equipment into places of need in natural disaster.

Royal Hospital for Women

Uterine Transplant Project

The Royal Hospital for Women has been given ethics approval to carry out Australia’s first uterus transplant as part of a ground-breaking research program.

The uterine transplant project led by Dr. Rebecca Deans, Dr. Jana Pittman, and Prof. Jason Abbott at The Royal Hospital for Women requires significant philanthropic investment ($1.2M) over the next five years to complete the Australian trial of 12 transplants. The project funding will drive research and support the multi-disciplinary clinical team at The Royal.

A local woman is one of the first two patient to undergo the transplant next year, and if successful will impact so many others that require a similar surgery.
